Jazz Paws

In the last four months, I’ve spent maybe a total of two weeks at home. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, though. I rolled out a new division on January 1st and its been very difficult getting workers in the area. Hopefully, in the next few months I will be able to spend a little more time in my other divisions, including my home division! In the meantime, I just keep reminding myself that my job earns the kibble! The company I work for has actually paid the hotel fee for Ghost to travel with me. It’s been a blessing.

Ghost getting his birthday cake

Ghost is such a happy pup. He will be leaving his puppy years behind this week. He turns 3 on Tuesday. We went out today to let him pick out his birthday cake and he even got a new birthday bandana. Shadow’s birthday is next month and he will turn 11! He is looking forward to picking out his cake next month. <smile>

We’ve had so many adventures since I last sat down to write. We’ve gone out on two camping trips with my new T@G XL Boondock. We decided to take the microwave out so that we could have more storage. In July, for our annual birthday trip (Marty and I both have July birthdays, so we take a trip to celebrate) we are going to a National Forest in Pennsylvania. No electricity or bathhouse. Marty bought a little Honda generator, so we will use that. We *think* we are prepared. When we complete the trip, I’ll let you know.

Let’s see…… Roan Mountain, TN, Hungry Mother State Park, VA, Cliffs of the Nuese State Park, NC, Gorges State Park, NC, the tallest waterfall in SC–Raven Cliff Falls and Greenbrier State Forest in VA. I think the latter was before I last wrote, but I never blogged about it. I am definitely not a professional blogger. I’d be fired. I want to live life and if I am able to write about it, then I will. But this nis a side gig. <laughter> I got the NuCamp T@G XL because I want to get out and do before my hips, knees and joints don’t lt me. I say that partly as a joke, but I turn 55 in a month and I realized I’m not getting any younger. <giggle> I don’t feel 55, for sure. I keep saying, “Sixty is the new forty!” That said, I have wanted to camp and see all the beautiful places in America and decided, “What the heck, I paid my Jeep off, get the little camper and hit the road!” #JeepLife

Ghost in the back of his new camper

Back to Ghost and his jazz paws. He makes me realize that we are all given second chances at life and that it’s okay to be jazzed and happy about your new life. For the first 6 weeks that we had Ghost, he would not play with Ammy. She tried and he would just mope around, unsure about life in his new home. Then one day, he must have realized that this was his furever home and he’s ben wide-open ever since. He started getting the zoomies on our walks and then came the jazz paws. He gets so excited when he’s playing that he jumps up—really high—- and you can see that his paws are spread open. Then he plops down with his paws open like that in front of him staring at the dog or human he’s excited about. “pffftttttt” “jazz paws” He’s just SO happy.

Ghost also has this swagger when he walks now. He bounces as we move along. It’s so cute and I’m glad to see him so happy. He’s got a lot of things that he loves. He loves his new camper better than the plastic houses we were camping in. He loves his RUMPL blanket and his Purple mattress. He says they help him rest up each night for another exciting day.

I’m trying to be more like Ghost each day. I am thankful for the second chance God has given me to have a happy, joyful life.
