On our third day we made it to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, It was snowing near the top and the winds were over 75mph. We were able to make it half way to the summit. It was interesting to see the snow near the top and the fall colors at the base of the mountain.
It was really cold, but so pretty. It would have been nice to say we went to the summit, but we can add this to our list of places we’ve been and need to revisit!
After the small detour to Mt. Washington, we made it to our AirBNB in Maine! We stopped to get groceries and we had out first lobster dinner of the honeymoon trip. It was delish. The house was amazing and made the perfect basecamp for our trips in and out of Acadia National Park and other locations in Maine.

We did a lot of driving the first few days so that we could make it to Maine and spend an entire week. It was well worth the intense driving for 3 days. There were many places we could have stopped along the way, but we knew the real adventure was in Maine!
We stayed in Southwest Harbor, the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island. Bar Harbor was packed and we were there at the close of the season. I cannot even begin to imagine how crowded this area is during the summer/peak season.
We ate wedding cake through Wednesday night when we ran out. Then we switched over to Maine wild blueberry ice cream.
As I am reliving the honeymoon, I am already wanting to go back to visit. I wish I had journaled more while I was there, but we stayed too busy with all of our adventures.
