Part 1 – Acadia Mountain Trail

In the morning, we headed to Bar Harbor to board a boat to go on a lighthouse tour. Afterward, we ate a delish lobster roll (they had gluten free buns!) and then we hiked Acadia Mountain Trail. It was an amazing trail on the quiet side of the island. It was fairly difficult with a lot of rock scrambling. It made me glad that I brought my theragun with me on the trip.

I had been to Maine at least 4 other times previous to this trip. I had never really SEEN the state and all its beauty. Sure, I kayaked with the boys on Lake Sebago and went to a friend’s wedding on the coast in Camden, ME. But I never really explored the trails and land. I had eaten lobster, though. <laughter>
Life really is how you hike it. You don’t get to see these views without making the hike.

There are so many hikes at Acadia, it would take several trips to make them all.
As always, the pictures do not do the trail’s beauty justice. The rock formations are absolutely stunning!
And now….. the lobster roll. There are two ways they make these in Maine. Cold, mayonnaise based or hot and soaked in butter. We chose the latter. We made it for lunch on the last day The Travelin’ Lobster was open for the season. Yum a thousand times over.
I’ll post a separate blog entry about the lighthouse tour. It made the second day of our honeymoon completely magical.

Such wonderful memories! Lobster Roll looks divine. Yum! π
