Exploring Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park

Sabino Canyon
Sabino Canyon

I travelled to Arizona for work the week before last. The new client rollout went well and I had a little time to see a few things after work. Win-win.

On the first day after work, I went to Sabino Canyon National Recreation Area in the Coronado National Forest. It was nice to take a short walk after sitting on the plane all day!

On Wednesday, I went to Tombstone with the team to see the sights. For $10 we were able to watch a short film, watch the reenactment of the shootout at the OK Corral and get a newspaper. Along with another SOM, we brought the team to eat at Big Nose Kate’s Saloon. It was a great time! We were able to get it all in over a short span of 2 hours.

Saguaro National Park

Last Thursday after work, I was able to get a short hike in at Saguaro National Park. It was neat to be able to check another national park off of my bucket list. I would have loved to get more than 2 miles in, but I was in town for work and obviously work comes first! Ha ha …..I went to the Hugh Norris Trail. It’s about 5 miles, but I only got 2 miles in. At least I can now say that I have been to Saguaro National Park! The desert is quite a bit different than my side of the United States, that is for certain!

Whenever I travel for work, I try not to sit in the hotel once the work is done. Arizona is a pretty place and I’m glad I didn’t just see the work aspect of it. While I don’t enjoy flying on airlines, I sure do like the places they can bring you.
