I got my backpack together on Sunday. I added 3L of water which weighs almost 8 pounds. Yikes. I added a complete Smartwool base layer because of the cool temperatures at night. This coming weekend, we are planning on backpacking 14 miles on the AT. We will hike from Carvers Gap to US 19E.
