Turtletown Falls

Yesterday, we were in Tennessee for a great hike near Tellico Plains. The boys’ retired BMT/hematologist wrote a book about hikes in the Tellico Plains, TN area, so I bought a copy. Originally, we were going to camp this weekend, but my middle son was supposed to go to the beach with a friend. Once the weather changed and got colder, he cancelled plans. As we had already cancelled our campsite……. so that we could watch the zoo while he was at the beach, we decided to trek over to TN.

The hardest part was that I was all the way in Southport, NC for work on Friday! But we made it. Ghost had a great time on this trail. There are two waterfalls, upper and lower Turtletown Falls. The 4 mile hike is definitely worth it, as pictures never do God’s beauty justice.

In my rush to pack when I returned home, I packed more cold weather gear and a tank top. It happens. On the way, I bought a cute shirt at Buc-ees– it’s got a camper on the back. Hence the reason I have a beaver on the front of my shirt. LOL

Ghost buried a treat near the car when we got out. When we completed the hike, he checked the spot where it was buried, but left the treat there. He’s so funny. I gave him a mid-hike treat and he buried it. I picked it up and we gave it to him again and he buried it again. He likes leaving treats for other travelers. LOL

If you look closely at the picture on the left, you’ll see a small rainbow near the fall on the right. If you are ever in this area, definitely try this hike. You’ll be glad you did. It’s an easy hike, in my opinion.
