These Boots Were Made for Weddings

Things are moving along. Work weeks seem to be flying by, for the most part. Rolling out a new client with 109 sites across NC in the four months before the wedding will be an arduous task! But, I am up for it. The project will be complete by then end of September, hence the reason October 12th works perfectly. We also decided to go to Vermont and Acadia National Park for our honeymoon, so it will be peek fall leaf season! Yay us!

I am having my dress custom made. I found a dress that I REALLY like, but needed it to be more modest, so I am having a seamstress make the same dress with sleeves and a lining under the lace so it won’t show anything. It will cover my shoulders, as well. It isn’t your traditional dress — I am not going for white or off-white. I decided that I can wear whatever color I want to my wedding. I can also wear the shoes I want, as well. It is a fairytale dress in a light lavender.

I choose boots. Wedding boots. I’m going to wear them to break them in before the wedding, as well. I think I can also wear them on the honeymoon……. aren’t they gorgeous!? I decided that I want to get shoes that I will wear for years to come and not shoes that will never be worn again. The shoes I wore to my son’s wedding got donated this year– I finally decided that not wearing them in 8 years means I’m never going to wear them. Last, no one will really see my shoes anyway….so go big or go home!

I also found a lovely local photography team and booked them for the wedding. Put the deposit down today. Lots of moving parts. Marty is going to get the BBQ catering lined up. I hope. <laughter> Planning only six months out …… he didn’t realize that it was kinda fast for a wedding.

Having my wedding attire set and photographer lined up, is the biggest piece of the puzzle for me other than the catering. I stopped by a local place that does some gluten-free wedding cakes, but the wedding coordinator was out the day I stopped by.

I am so excited and happy. It makes it hard to focus on work— this whole planning a wedding thing. I’ve got to get started making the invitations! That will take a hot minute to do.
