This morning we got up early and headed to Troutdale, VA. It was 22° and windy, but we made the short hike to Comers Creek Falls.

Ghost had a great time! It’s his kind of weather. There was a tiny bit of snow on the ground and ice forming on the moving water.

The water level wasn’t as high as it sometimes is, but the falls were pretty anyway. There were several small falls along the path, too.

It was really cold and my outdoor research wool gloves helped keep my hands warm. I’m also trying to use my trekking poles more frequently. I have heard they help decrease stress on your joints while at the same time making you a bit more stable as you hike.
