Niagara Falls

My 55th birthday was my best birthday ever! I was able to go back to Niagara Falls again. Until last month, I had only seen them from the Canadian side of the falls. This time, we started out in Canada and then ended up in New York on the American side of the falls. While the view from Canada is probably the best because you see the full falls, the American side was beautiful, too. The only thing I didn’t like is that it is so commercialized.

Ghost sys, “Who loves me? Marty loves me!”

When I went back in 2013, it was in fall and it was really cold. The spray coming off the falls was coming over the ledge a lot more than this last visit. I was in my Parka on that cold 32 degree day! This year, I was in a summer dress and it was nice and toasty. Ghost was with us. My only tip for folks with dogs would be to drive to the parking lot on Goat Island in New York. Otherwise, you have to carry your pup across several metal bridges. Marty is a hero because he toted a 60 pound Ghost over bridges 4 times so that he did not burn his paws on the metal. Marty is definitely a keeper! I don’t know anyone else who would carry my big boy over bridges. That’s true love.

We didn’t have any problem crossing the border with Ghost, either. He was sitting up in the back of my Jeep and they didn’t even ask about him or if he had his shots. Guess he is so cute they assumed he was well cared for. After we ate lunch, we all got ice cream because it was so hot. Even Ghost. He really enjoyed the treat.

We were camping about 2 1/2 hours away. Marty had never been to the falls and I told him that we couldn’t be that close to Niagara Falls and not go. Since I had only seen the Canadian side, it was great to go to Niagara Falls State Park and spend time there.

55 is going to be the best level yet! I am looking forward to another year of adventure and fun. When I’m not working, that is. I feel like I am finally getting to a good place with my job. I might jinx myself by saying that, but I really feel like things are going fairly well. I still have a lot to learn as we ar potentially rolling out two more new clients in NC this year. It is an exciting time. I don’t have a business degree, but like the President of the company I work for tells me, “You have a life degree.” I’m learning and getting better. Life is good.
